Winter storms bring out the strong need to rush the grocery store for one more milk and bread. Also, all the snacks you can carry. With the snow, rain, sleet, thunder and wind I kept looking out the window wondering what would be next. The cleanup will be interesting.

Holiday gas prices have been a blessing for us. Hovering around $2.00 the price has put smiles into the lives of the motorist. It can be under $2.50 to keep me happy.

The New Year brings the promise of hope, happiness and health which is our wish for you. May the New Year bring with it peace and promise. My moderate resolution for the New Year is going to be a little more successful than years past, mostly because I can’t continue to get it wrong every year and live. The lofty goals of yesteryears have become a necessity that can’t be ignored. I will only eat one generous helping at mealtime and only one cookie at a time. Water will be my main drink next to coffee and tea, some soda and limited beer. Maybe some wine and tart cherry juice. Also a Pepsi would be great. My true sins for health are the hearty whole wheat breads, blueberries, cranberries and walnuts. Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are a plus. Another pleasure is ice cream of any flavor but a strong favorite is cherry nut with chocolate. Yes, I know cherry nut is the favorite of senior citizens but I qualified. So anyway, I’m hungry now. Happy New Year.

A traffic Policeman recently stopped a woman for exceeding the posted speed limit. He asked the driver her name.

She said, “I’m Mrs. Ladislav Abdulkhashim Zybkcicraznovskaya from the Republic of Uzbekistan”

The cop put away his summons book and pen, and said, “Well… OK… but don’t let me catch you speeding again.”

Have a good week!
