We are halfway thru the year and on the downside glide. We have three, maybe four, months of reasonable weather left this year. There will be a great Fourth of July for a mid week break.
The weekend gave us some more rain which we are thankful for as always. The weekend projects were only set back some but there were accomplishments that saw progress.
Our wren nest is guarded by the male wren who very vocal in establishing his territory. He will build several nests and let the female choose the one she likes. She will finish decorating for comfort. They or some of the offspring have used the same house for several years.
It’s very pleasant having your morning coffee with the birds. We have nested several robins, one of which chose to build her nest on top of our bat house. The bats don’t seem to mind. At times the yard can have a cascade of bird songs while your pleasure is to sit and listen.
The Fourth of July celebrates our independence as a country founded on freedom. There is room for everyone. When our ancestors arrived from our homeland there were obstacles but there needn’t be in this day. We are all different and we are all together.
