Warm again with storms in the forecast. The Summer Solstice starts this Saturday June 20 at 4:43 pm. Days will shorten slowly, a couple minutes each day and the conversation will turn how hot it is to how cold it is. Enjoy it all. We have a lot of good days left.

We we’re able to get control of our garden this past weekend. Lots of hoeing, added a few trellises for the beans and cucumbers and the rest is out of our hands. The usage of the community gardens is at a record level with new ones added this year. I dabble with one half of a garden which seems about the right size for us. It’s so nice to have a fresh tomato when you want.  I do use the farmers market for the verity of vegetables and the baked goods. Bread and the occasional caramel roll are strong attractions for me.

Actions and the reactions are beyond control and our society needs to step back. All lives matter. We are all different and we are all in this together. We may never be back slapping buddies but we should be able to talk about our differences when they exist. I have a neighbor who is a trucker but we get along. The house, next to us, has had several different occupants so that could be my problem. Point is, we are all different living together. I have a church on the other side of our home. We are different but tolerable of our difference. And no, I have nothing against truckers. Someday, soon, I will share my thoughts on living next to church’s for well over fifty years.

Let’s get along.

Two friends met after not seeing each other for a couple of months.

Bill: “Jack, you look like you not doing well?”

Jack (swiping the sweat off his brow): “I ain’t been ill. It’s the work doing me in. Working from seven in the morning till six at night. Only one hour for a break. Think of it. Very taxing on ones body.”

Bill: “Wow, and how long has this been going on? How long you been working for that company?”

Jack: “Oh, I haven’t been there yet. I begin tomorrow,” he added gloomily.

I do really feel bad for the Class of 2020. People say your senior year flies…

I just didn’t realize it would Zoom!
