We are starting to lose significant snow. There is plenty of water to go around with some roads that were closed and many that should have been. Wednesday will officially open Spring and it looks like a pretty good day. This week has promise, but next week will be wet. Recovering from the expense of winter will take some time. Meanwhile, I will be chipping and scraping ice until July. Flooding will now be the big threat, particularly if your area is prone to water damage. Roads and bridges will suffer damage and your job is to know what’s safe.

There should be a robin or two sliding into the yard soon just to look miserable standing in the snow. The possibility of them pulling a big juicy nightcrawler isn’t very good. This will be a tough spring to be an early bird.

A woman rushes into her house one morning and yells to her husband, “Sam, pack up your stuff. I just won the lottery!”

“Shall I pack for warm weather or cold?”

“Whatever. Just so you’re out of the house by noon!”

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.                                            – John Lennon
