We left for a few weeks and winter happened over and over. I realized we came back too early because the snow is packed in every cranny that was exposed. I knew where I parked my pickup but it was still a hunt in the snow pile to find it. We haven’t had a winter like this for some time but I do hope to see another one- in twenty or thirty years. The lost art of snowmobiling is making a comeback and family board games can fill time not needed for Facebook.
Our absence the past few weeks took us to Mexico, visiting the mountains and several cities on the Pacific side, a very enjoyable time with friends at different places. Keeping track of weather at home was one thing, but not living it is another thing. Water will run later this month. Weather will continue to control our lives for some time. Predictions for the weeks ahead vary, but there is little doubt about this coming weekend’s storm stopping much of life. Prepare, plan and hunker down while being mindful of your neighbors and those less able to continue the Minnesota Struggle.

Good Times

Earl and Bubba are quietly sitting in a boat fishing, chewing tobacco and drinking beer when suddenly Bubba says, “Think I’m gonna divorce the wife… she ain’t spoke to me in over 2 months.”
Earl spits overboard, takes a long, slow sip of beer and says, “Better think it over… women like that are hard to find.”
