A new business is blossoming in Adrian. Jill Wolf of Adrian Floral is excited to announce that she is now open for business.
Jill has always had a love for flowers, decorating, and arranging different displays. Her husband, Chris, and Jill celebrated their anniversary in August. Chris bought her roses from McCarthy’s Floral in Adrian to celebrate and in doing so, found out from co-owner Jane, that her and her husband Dorance would be closing the doors on their long running floral business. Chris mentioned to Jill that it would be a great opportunity to do something that she enjoys. Jill contacted Jane, who suggested that she take part in the winter design floral show held in Sioux Falls. Jill did, immediately falling in love with floral design and met many helpful people. She looked into classes at the Floral Institute in Minneapolis and signed up to take classes in October. While she was attending classes she had the opportunity to work at “Your Enchanted Florist” in St. Paul. The owner, Lynne Tischler, who is also Jill’s instructor and mentor, took Jill under her wing and showed her tips and techniques. Jill recalls Lynne making the comment “flowers bring joy and solice.” What Jill loves is that “flowers bring a smile to someone’s face.” You get to help celebrate, “as a florist, you get to see how people love each other.”
You can add a special touch to memorialize a funeral arrangement. Lynne along with instructor, Ardith Beveridge, have designed arrangements for the White House with the White House Easter Egg Roll being their most recent. Every year they decorate the Governor’s mansion for Christmas. In just a few short weeks, Jill has picked up some great techniques from two very talented and well known designers.
