Paul Van Maaren officiating. Internment was in the Ransom Cemetery in Rushmore, MN.  Jeanette passed away on September 7, 2018, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford, NE. Jeanette, a beautiful bouncing baby girl, was born on June 28, 1945 in Sibley, IA, to Robert and Vernagail (Goodell) Rogers of Rushmore MN. She was their first daughter and was named in recognition of her maternal and paternal grandmothers. She was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of Rushmore, MN.  She was later confirmed and a member of the Bigelow Methodist Church in Bigelow, MN.  This was the beginning of her strong lifelong belief in her Creator, as she continued to be active in various churches throughout her life.

Jeanette grew up on a farm between Bigelow, MN and Rushmore, MN. She attended school in Bigelow until 8th grade. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1963. Jeanette attended community college in Pipestone, MN for meat cutting, the first woman to participate in the program. During her youth she was an active member of the Ransom Royal Racers 4-H Club.  She worked at Cashels Nursing Home and Campbells Soup Company in Worthington, MN.

Jeanette enjoyed writing letters and poems. Although she suffered from multiple illnesses during her lifetime, it was her thoughtful nature to send beautiful cards or letters at the perfect time.  Jeanette cared deeply about others and was moved to help through her words.

Jeanette was survived by six siblings, Donald Rogers, Mt. Vernon, Mo; Gerald (June) Rogers, Kearney, NE; Elaine (Henry) Mess, Rushmore, MN; Duane (Marie) Rogers, Brandon, SD; Diane (Patrick) Kemp, Freeport, Bahamas; and Phyllis (Bruce) Thalhuber of Luverne, MN. Her family includes 16 nieces and nephews and 10 great-grand nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Verngail, an infant brother, a niece, and a great niece. Special people to Jeanette were her cousin, Nadine Tippery of Lincoln, NE and life-long friend, Linda Beerman of Iona, MN.

Arrangements were under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, of Sheldon, Iowa.
