Resurfacing scheduled to begin in September
MANKATO, Minn. – Interstate 90 motorists between Round Lake and Rushmore are advised of short-term lane closures beginning Aug. 1 in preparation for resurfacing in September.
The August preparation work includes culvert lining, guard rail replacement and work on emergency pullouts.
Additional traffic restrictions including lane restrictions, speed reductions and ramp closures will be required when the resurfacing is underway on the westbound lanes west of Worthington and the eastbound lanes east of Worthington.
The work will improve the safety and smoothness of I-90 and preserves the system for several years into the future.
Information on all I-90 work in southwestern Minnesota can be found www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/I90preserve/ where the public is encouraged to sign up for e-mail updates.
Knife River Construction of Sauk Rapids is the contractor on the $7,259,661 project.
