Golfers start tournament season

The Adrian girls and boys golf teams competed in separate 18 hole tournaments on Tuesday, May 9th.  The girls traveled to Rolling Hills Golf Course near Westbrook to play in an 8 team tournament.  The team carded a total of 421 in the 18 hole competition which was good for a 5th place finish.

Alexia Kemper fired a round of 90 and placed 4th in the tourney.  Annika and Gracia Elias had a good day on the course and both finished with rounds of 104.  Josi Altman was playing in her first 18 hole competition and finished the day at 123.

The boys venue was Town and Country Golf Course in Fulda where the boys turned in  their best performance of the year up to this point.  Their team total of 396 placed the boys 6th in a field of 9 teams.

Mitchell Veld and Brady Henning led the way for the Dragons by shooting rounds of 93 and 94 respectively.  While both struggled a bit on their front nine, both turned it up a notch and played well on the back nine.  Landon Runia (104) and Cole Weidert (105) were the other 2 scorers in the team total.  Easton Braun and John Christians shot rounds of 114 and 127

The Dragon golfers will host the Cardinals of Luverne on Monday.  The Red Rock Conference Tournament will be played at the Worthington Country Club on Tuesday, May 16th.
