Fulda Police Chief Paul Kenney to chair Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force Board

Fulda’s Chief of Police, Paul Kenney, is the new chairman for the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force Board of Directors. Vice-chairman is Pipestone County Sheriff Keith Vreeman. The board includes a representative from law enforcement agencies in Murray, Nobles and Pipestone Counties.

Chief Kenney was nominated to the position by former BRDTF chairman Troy Appel. Appel recently made the decision to step down as chair of the three-county task force. He held the position for four years and is a former BRDTF agent and commander. He is currently the Chief of Police in Worthington.

During the August 9th public meeting of the BRDTF, a majority vote by the board removed Nate Grimmius from his position as commander. The board’s decision followed a closed session.

Murray County Police Lieutenant Chris Lewis was appointed as the BRDTF interim commander. He served on the force from 2006 until 2016 and then returned to the Murray County Sheriff’s office. He will continue as the Murray County Lieutenant and as interim commander until a permanent commander is assigned.
