EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The  Vikings on Monday announced the name of the man who will announce names at U.S. Bank Stadium.  Alan Roach has been named as the future public address announcer at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Roach, a native of Slayton, Minnesota, who spent his high school years in Brainerd, told Vikings.com he’s excited to join the team he’s followed fervently since childhood.  “I’m just thrilled to do this,” Roach said. “It’s the coolest thing I’m about to ever do.”

There’s a long and distinguished list of what Roach has done. His resume includes working for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies and four Winter Olympics (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014). He also has worked in multiple capacities for the NFL, including eight Super Bowls (XL-XLVII) and a combination of Pro Bowls, NFL Drafts and Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremonies.

Roach’s voiceover work includes the trains at Denver International Airport and spots for GMC and even a taxidermy shop.

When U.S. Bank Stadium makes its football debut on Aug. 28 with the Vikings hosting the Chargers, it will be the second time that Roach has announced a Vikings game. The first was the team’s 2013 International Series game against the Steelers in London.
