WEST DES MOINES, IA (December 27, 2017) – Shirley Top with Kozlowski Insurance Agency and Financial Services, Inc., of Luverne, Minnesota, has recently been recognized as a top-producing crop insurance agent for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company (FMH).
FMH recognizes the top-producing agents in total premium each year. Top has been recognized as placing 28th in the company’s Top 50 Agents in Crop Hail Premium. In addition, Top is ranked 5th in the state of Minnesota for combined Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) and Crop Hail premium in 2017 – up from 8th in the state in 2016.
2017 marks 30 years in the crop insurance business for Top. She says the most important part of her job is working with clients, helping them understand their options, and assisting clients in weather and price-related claims.
“I love working with farmers,” said Top. “I help them assess their needs, go through options with them, and then let them decide what is best for them.”
She also explained one of the most popular products she provided this past year.
“RAMP (Revenue Accelerator Max Protection) is a new private product with Farmers Mutual Hail. It protects up to 95 percent of actual production history, and proved to be a good choice for farmers in 2017,” Top added. “Sixty-three percent of my farm clients chose RAMP with 95 percent coverage in 2017. Farmers can choose 85 percent MPCI enterprise units and 95 percent RAMP optional units coverage. With lower grain prices and smaller profit margins, there is a very strong interest in RAMP for 2018.”
Additionally, Top noted the service of the Farmers Mutual Hail adjusting staff.
“Our adjusting staff is amazing. Our adjusters are timely, and they do a great job advising the farmer of their findings and calculations,” she said.
