Ellsworth welcomes two new teachers

Ellsworth school bells rang in the first day of the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday.  The students and staff warmly welcomed two new teachers into the district.

Ms. Lauren Stanton

Ms. Lauren Stanton is coming to Ellsworth as the new 5th and 6th grade Social Studies and Language Arts teacher.  She says she got interested in teaching because “I’ve always enjoyed working with kids and helping them to learn and understand new things.”

Originally from Round Lake, MN, she graduated high school from Round Lake – Brewster High School.  She earned her degree in education from Northwestern College.  Ms. Stanton now lives in Ellsworth.

About her new teaching position she says, “I am very excited to begin teaching at Ellsworth.  I’ve always appreciated smaller school and communities and I am happy to be becoming a part of one.”

Ms. Jessica Wanner

Jessica Wanner is teaching Elementary Special Education at Ellsworth School.  Ms. Wanner is originally from Willmar, MN, and now lives in Sioux Falls with her dog, Bruce.  She has a wedding in her future to fiance’ Sam.

Ms. Wanner has a degree in Early Childhood Education and previously taught 1st grade at ACGC in Atwater, MN.  She became a teacher because “I love working with kids.  I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I remember.”

She comments, “I’m excited to become a part of this community and to further pursue my employment with education.”
