The Sweer Arends Family celebrated their Christmas at the home of Ervin and Lori Arends, Little Rock, IA. Family members present were Sweer, Florence and Sharon, Ellsworth; Keith and Marvella Klaashen, Sibley, IA; Glen and Barb Arends, Lester, IA; Doug Arends, Sioux Falls SD; Valerie Arends, Minneapolis, MN and Ervin and Lori Arends.
Daryl Kruger, Ellsworth joined Kevin and Brenda Gisolf, Rock Valley, IA. and drove to Shakopee, MN to spend the Christmas weekend with their daughter. sister, and family, Sean, Kristi and Noah Peterson.
Enjoying Christmas noon with Ruth Birkett and Skip Birkett were Mimi and Jay Drenth, Rock Rapids, IA: Tanner Lamb and Angie Schleusner, Cedar Rapids, IA; and Cole Schleusner, Vermillion, SD.
This Christmas Day of 2016 will go down in history. The day started with lots of wind, almost reminded one of being back on the prairie with wide open spaces for the wind to dance, thunder and rain, this lasted all day long. So far I have not heard an amount for the rain fall.
Most people were able to get where they were going to celebrate Christmas. When the temperatures started dropping for the night, it was important to get back home, as the rain turned to ice.
