Ellsworth High School was awarded the bronze medal ranking from US News and World Report Magazine. This is a national ranking with a four step process to determine the best high schools. The first three steps assessed the students performance on the Math and Reading parts of their State Proficiency Tests and graduation rates, schools that scored high enough on these first three criteria became eligible to be judged nationally on the final step, college readiness performance. This step measured which schools prepare students for college level work. Nationally seventeen schools were awarded a gold medal across the nation, 2,173 silver medals were awarded.
