The Adrian Speech team will send eight students to Section competition Saturday, April 14 at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. Adrian hosted the subsection tournament on Wednesday, April 4. The tourney was originally scheduled for April 3 but had to be postponed because of weather.
The team placed third with 41 points behind the two larger teams from Luverne and Windom who tied for first.
Students had to place fourth or higher to move on to section competition. Those moving on are Alexia Kemper, first in Extemporaneous Reading; Felicity Alvarado, first in Great Speeches; Sabdi Bravo, first in Informative Speaking; Sara Knips, first in Prose; Maritza Beltran, second in poetry; Jayda Castaway, second in Original Oratory; Tristan Thier, third in Discussion and Emma Fuerstenberg, fourth in Humorous.
Also competing at the meet for Adrian were Aaron Rojas in Humorous, Joshua Horn in Prose, Cheyenna John in Poetry, Arianna VanMeveren in Storytelling and Madelyn Odell in Original Oratory.
