In a wet and lightning delayed game Edgerton/Ellsworth high school football team continued on a winning run defeating the Fulda Raiders 56-6 and bringing their record to 4-0.
The Flying Dutchmen continue with a running offense rushing for a total of 363 yards on 52 carries and 111 yards passing. Fulda rushed for 21 yards and threw for 35.
On Saturday night, Edgerton/Ellsworth scored on its very first possession when Jaden Bloemendaal carried into the end zone from 46 yards out. Scoring for E/E came from Bloemendaal on 61-yard run and Van Dyke getting a two-yard run. The next score was the 25-yard pass to Sluis.
Buckridge then threw his second TD pass with 3:13 remaining until halftime, finding Trey Gilbertson open, covering 75 yards.
Next came a safety on a punt snap that sailed into the Fulda end zone. E/E’s Nick Paulsen had an eight-yard touchdown carry untouched through the middle of the FHS defense.
Fulda got on the scoreboard in the third quarter when senior halfback Jon Gehl went up the middle on a 95-yard run.
Scoring for the game ended with an Edgerton/Ellsworth safety with 2:04 remaining in the fourth quarter.
