Earleen “Lynn” Hinrichs   ~     Ellsworth, MN       

 

 

Funeral services for Earleen “Lynn” Hinrichs, age 65, of Ellsworth, MN, were held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN.  Burial was at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.  Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills, MN, was in charge of the services. Earleen died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the CLA Home in Luverne, MN.

Earleen “Lynn” (Skillman) Hinrichs was born on November 4, 1952, the daughter of Raymond and Leona (Stubbe) Skillman.  She attended school in George, IA, through the 8th grade.  She completed half of her 9th grade year and began working at Swalve Produce.

Lynn met the love of her life, Ron Hinrichs, in 1968 and was united in marriage to him on April 1, 1971.  Throughout their marriage they lived in various homes in Ellsworth and the surrounding area.  Lynn was a caring and hard-working person, who enjoyed keeping busy.  She delivered the Worthington Daily Globe, Sioux Falls Argus Leader, and worked at the Ellsworth Bar, where she was well known as “Poopsy”.  She also worked at Parkview Manor as a C.N.A.  She most recently worked at RCO in Luverne, where she made a lot of new friends.

Ron & Lynn enjoyed doing lots of things together, especially riding around looking for deer or checking out the crops.  She also enjoyed shooting darts, playing Bingo, playing cards, baking, hunting, and collecting anything Elvis and John Deere.  She was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN.  Shortly after Ron’s death, Lynn was unable to stay at her home and after moving a couple times she settled at CLA 216 home in Luverne, MN, where she made some lifelong friendships with some very caring women.  Her other housemates were very near and dear to her heart also.  On November 1, 2017, Lynn was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and on November 16, 2017, she went to be with the love of her life, Ron, who she greatly missed since his passing in 2012.

She is survived by her two children, Jody (Merrily) Hinrichs and Christina (Ray) Palmer, both of Ellsworth, MN; five grandchildren, Jordan (Krystal) Hinrichs, Amber (Spencer) Swanson, Trei Hinrichs, McKenna Hinrichs and Kaci Palmer, all of Ellsworth, MN; three great-grandchildren, Skyla, Logan and Avia; two sisters, Judy (Gary) Meester of Sioux Falls, SD, and Laureen (Norbert Sr.) Fick of Luverne, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many good friends at CLA 216.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Leona Skillman; husband, Ron; parents-in-law, Jake and Marion; grandson, Carter Palmer; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Palmer and brother-in-law, Marvin Hinrichs.
