The Red Rock Conference leaders Southwest Christian of Edgerton jumped out to a 22-0 lead and then continued to roll as they defeated the Dragons of Adrian 70-36. The loss is the Dragons first in conference play, moving their Red Rock mark to 2-1. Overall, Adrian drops its record to 3-2.
The E-Gals would make three of their first four shots to grab a 6-0 advantage and never looked back as they scored 22 consecutive points before Adrian’s, Lexi Slater, dropped in a put back rebound to break the Dragon scoring drought.
Even when Hannah Bullerman found the range from three-point land it wouldn’t be enough to get her team back into the hunt. SWC ended the first half scoring 39 points to the Dragons 17 giving the host team a 22-point halftime lead.
Adrian’s freshmen guard, Moriah Bullerman ,scored the first points of the second half and when Paige Bullerman connected from the left block, it cut the E-Gals lead to 17 points. It would be the closet the Dragons could get as SWC won the second half as well by a score of 31 to 19.
Paige Bullerman would be Adrian’s lone double-digit scorer with an even dozen points. Sisters, Moriah and Hannah Bullerman, contributed eight and seven points respectively; while Mikayla Jeffers tallied four counters. Lexi Slater ended with three points and Kaitlyn Christians ended with a basket.
