Memorial services for DuWayne A. Cleveland, age 45 of Fort Dodge, IA formally of Adrian, MN, were held on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Fort Dodge, with Pastor Annette Howard officiating. Internment was held at the Mt. Calvery Cemetery in Livermore, IA. DuWayne died Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
DuWayne, the son of Daryl and Joyce (Herold) Cleveland, was born at the Naval Hospital in Subic Bay, Philippines on March 28, 1974. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1993. He married Erika Stover on November 18, 1995, and they had two children Quinn and Kennedy. Over the years, he worked as a cabinet welder at the Frigidaire Company in Webster City, IA and held a variety of convenience store jobs until his health failed. His favorite college teams were the Florida State Seminoles and Iowa State Cyclones. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Alden, IA and attended First Baptist Church in Fort Dodge.
Left to cherish DuWayne’s memory are his wife Erika; 2 children, Quinn Cleveland, Fort Dodge, IA; and Kennedy (special friend Marge Ayers) Cleveland of Fort Dodge,IA; and his dog Frank. He is also survived by his father Daryl and stepmother Donarae Cleveland of Odebolt, IA; brother Jay Cleveland of Fort Walton Beach, FL; sister April Cleveland of Naples, FL and half brother Bradley Cleveland of Odebolt, IA; nieces and nephews: Jasmine, Drake, Shelby and Maggie. He is also survived by Sue Larson, Jerry (Adella) Cleveland, Bob Herold and Tony (Kathy) Herold.
DuWayne was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Cleveland Jacobsen; two uncles, Allen and Donald Herold; an aunt Linda Everhart; and grandparents Leo and Luella Harold, and Lester and Maxine Cleveland.
