The third seeded, Adrian-Ellsworth Dragons Boys’ Basketball team took on the sixth seeded RTR Knights on Saturday, February 29th in the first round of the 3A South Sub-Section playoffs hosted by Worthington High School.
The Knights took a 31-28 lead into halftime. The Dragons were able to find their rhythm in the second half and Lance Luettel made two crucial free throws with 3.1 Seconds remaining to secure the 66 to 62 victory for the Dragons!
The Dragons were 20 of 49 for 41% from the field. The Dragons won the rebounding battle 40 to 20. They were 21 of 30 for 70% from the free throw line. The A/E Dragons were led by Noah Reyne’s 21 points and 11 rebounds. Peyton Lewis added 18 points, Grant Jansma added 13 points, while connecting on 4 of 8 three-point shot attempts. Lance Leuttel chipped in with 6 points and 8 rebounds.
The Dragons improved their overall record to 13-13. They will take on the second-seeded Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers on Thursday, March 5th at 7:30pm at Worthington High School. We hope to see you at the game!!!
