The final quarterfinal played in Worthington for the 3A South Subsection tournament paired the 3rd seeded Dragons against the 6th seeded Murray County Central Rebels. The Dragons won 56 to 44.
The Dragons won the rebounding battle 38 to 31 and made 19 of 26 free throws for 69%. Jacob Stamer led the Dragons with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Mitchell Lonneman added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Wieneke added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Zachary Hendel recorded 9 points in the Dragon victory.
The Dragons played great team defense and kept the Rebel offense off balance most of the game. The Dragons were patient on offense and executed down the stretch. The victory improved the Dragons overall record to 16-9
The Dragons will play the 2nd seeded Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers on Thursday, March 9th at 7:30pm at Worthington High School.
