The 2019 Adrian Dragon golf teams hosted Heron Lake/Okabena-Fulda and Southwest Christian-Edgerton in a golf triangular on Monday, April 8th at the Adrian Country Club. It was the first meet of the season for the boys team and the second meet for the girls. The girls were able to come away with a one stroke victory over HLO – F, while SWC – E did not field a full squad. The boys team earned a split on the day, losing to HLO -F and defeating SWC – E.
Madelyn Odell led the Lady Dragons to a 211 – 212 win with a round of 48. Her 9 hole total was good for medalist honors for the day. Also scoring for the Dragons were: Gracia Elias (54), Taya Elias (54), and Maddie Wagner (55). Josi Altman rounded out the team with a 64. The girls have shown good consistency on the course, even though outdoor practice has been very limited.
HLO -F took the meet with a score of 174, Adrian came in with a 194 and SWC -E shot a 201. Brock Henning was the leading golfer for Adrian with a round of 45. Easton Braun (47), Landon Runia (48) and Logan Nogasek (54) were the other 3 scorers in the team total. Landyn Loosbrock (60) and John Christians (74) also played for the Dragons. The boys team played quite well for their first meet and hope to continue to play consistent golf as the season progresses.
