Adrian Lady Dragons take on MCC in
Sub-section play
On Saturday, February 23, the #5 seeded Adrian Lady Dragons traveled to Hills to take on the #4 seeded MCC Rebels in sub-section playoffs. Unfortunately for the Lady Dragons, they were unable to bring home the win.
After one half of play, the Lady Rebels led the Dragons 38-35. Despite scoring from nine Lady Dragons, they could not contain the Rebels and lost 49 – 69.
Leading the Dragons was Bailey Lonneman with a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds), while Shawna Rogers (eight points, four rebounds, three assists), Avery Balster (seven points, seven rebounds, team-leading five assists) and Jayden Zebe (seven points, two assists) whose combined total equaled 22 of Adrian’s 49 points. Other scorers for Adrian were Moriah Bullerman who added 5, Autumn Gruissing with 4, McKinley Nelson and Brisa Zebe hit two each and Kristina Cauwels contributed 1.
For MCC, the leading scorer was Indes Rio Rus with 25 points and teammate Montana Beckman putting up 22 to count for 47 of MCC’s 69 points.
The Lady Dragons end the year with a 7-16 record in conference play.
