The 2019 Adrian Dragon Football team held their annual end-of-season banquet last Thursday night at the Countryside. Parents, players, and coaches all attenended to honor the achievements of individual players on the team .After a supper, Coach Schettler started things off by welcoming everyone to the event. Coach Kallevig then gave a recap of the JV season. Following Coach Kallevig, Coach Kruger awarded the winners of the pre-season Dragon Combine. Kruger also recognized the ball boys with a certificate. The 2019 ball boys were: Codin Bullerman and Alex Klosterman. Coach Kruer then acknowledged the great job done by the two video boys. Joshua Horn was presented with a letter for his work videoing the games while Jayden Winselman received a certificate.
Coach Schettler continued by recapping the season. Following the recap, team awards were announced. Each player who won a team award received a plaque. The 2019 Dragon Football Team Award Winners were:

Varsity Training Camp Player of the Year: Ian Stamer
JV Training Camp Player of the Year: Reese Carlson and Isaac Bullerman
Defensive Lineman of the Year: Lance Luettel
Defensive Back of the Year: Logan Taylor
Offensive Lineman of the Year: Lance Luettel
Offensive Back of the Year: Brandon Schnoor
Special Teams Player of the Year: Brady Vortherms
Mr. Fire: Ian Stamer
Coaches Award: Beau Bullerman
Most Valuable Player: Brandon Schnoor
Following Team Awards, the stat girls were honored with a letter for the job they did of keeping stats during games. The 2018 stat girls were: Emily Lebrun, Elizabeth Erwin, and Emma Madtson.
The rest of the letterwinners were then announced by grade. The 2018 football player letterwinners were:
Seniors: Scot Edwards, Lance Luettel, Brandon Schnoor, Ian Stamer, Grant Jansma, John Heidebrink, Axel Martinez, Logan Taylor, Beau Bullerman, and Brady Vortherms
Juniors: Preston Nelson, Marshall Wagner, Lucas Nelson, and Nick Sjogren
Sophomores: Isaac Bullerman, Gabe Thier, Dawson Krahling
Freshman: Brandon Boltjes and Quentin Wolf
Coach Schetter then announced the 2019 Southwest East Sub-District Team Honorees. Lance Luettel, Ian Stamer, and Brandon Schnoor each earned first team honors. Logan Taylor and Preston Nelson were honored as Honorable Mention.
Lance Luettel was voted Most Valuable Offensive Lineman by the coaches of the district.
The Dragon coaching staff would like to thank all the parents for their support during the 2019 season. We would also like to thank the seniors for their dedication to Adrian Football. We look forward to the 2020 season.
