On Monday, December 18th, 2017 the Windom Area Eagles visited the Adrian Dragons Boys’ Basketball team in a non-conference match-up. The Eagles prevailed by the score of 70-55. The game was 47 to 43 with 7 minutes left in the second half before the Eagles pulled away.
The Dragons shot 14 of 34 for 41% inside the three-point line. Adrian went 6 of 17 for 35% from behind the three-point line. The Dragons lost the rebounding battle 34 to 22. Adrian went 9 of 13 for 69% from the free throw line. Ryan Wieneke had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks to pace the Dragons. Lance Leuttel, Mitchell Veld and Skylar Polzine each added 8 points in the Dragon effort. The Dragons dropped to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Red Rock Conference.

Thursday, December 21st the Adrian Dragons hosted the Red Rock Central Falcons in the semifinal round of the Adrian Holiday Basketball Tournament. The Falcons won with a score of 67-61.
The Dragons were 12 of 20 for 60% from inside the three-point line and 11 of 24 for 46% beyond the three-point line. The Dragons won the rebounding battle 25 to 24. Ryan Wieneke paced Adrian with 37 points and 11 rebounds, Wieneke made 7 three-point attempts. Brady Henning added 11 points while shooting 3 for 4 from beyond the three-point line. The Dragons had their chances to make plays down the end, but came up a little short. With the loss, The Dragons dropped to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in Red Rock Conference action.

On Friday, December 22, 2017 the Wabasso Rabbits faced the Adrian Dragons in the third place game of the Adrian Holiday Basketball Tournament. The Dragons prevailed 66 to 49. The Dragons were 16 of 33 for 48% from shots inside the three-point arch. The Dragons went 7 of 20 for 35% from shots behind the three-point line. Adrian shot 13 of 21 for 62% on free throws. Adrian won the rebounding battle 29 to 19. Ryan Wieneke had 24 points and 8 rebounds. Skylar Polzine had 15 points, Mitchell Veld added 8 points. Lance Leuttel added 9 points off the Dragon bench. The Dragons improved their record to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in Red Rock Conference Play. The Dragons will host the Fulda Raiders at 2pm on Friday, December 29th.
