A new business is gracing the corner of Main Street and Highway 75 in Luverne. W-2’s Quality Meats opened Monday, March 10 to a steady stream of appreciative customers.
Owners Steve Wieneke and Troy Wietzema have run the original branch of W-2’s Quality Meats in Worthington since July 20, 2005. Steve comments “we hope to give the people of Luverne the same quality products and service we supply to the people in the Worthington area.” Steve and his wife, Laurie, from Lismore and Troy and his wife, Angie, from Worthington lease the old Korner Gas Stop building from a group of investors. The interior of the building is virtually unrecognizable with the renovations completed.
W-2’s Quality Meats carries 32 flavors of brats ranging from mild to hot and with or without cheese, nine flavors of beef sticks, ring bologna, smoked meats, old fashioned wieners. They carry only choice beef and get their pork from JBS in Worthington. W-2’s is offering local buffalo meat from Prairie Heights Bison and nine flavors of chicken breasts from Golden Plump. Another local treat will be delivered from Edgerton bakery twice a week. They also carry Land-O-Lakes milk, chips, pop, a variety of lunch meats and cheese. Steve and Troy stress that specialty orders are always welcome.
Steve will be working primarily in Luverne and Troy in Worthington. Luverne hours are 7-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7-4 on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays. Stop in and see Steve and the Luverne crew. They can be reached at 507-449-0039 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
