Monte and Peggy (Henning) Knips and family were guests in the Darleen Lutmer “family home” in Lismore for several days last week. They came especially for the 85th birthday celebration of Peggy’s mother, Carol Henning in Adrian but also had time to visit with many friends and relatives in the area.  Their family includes:  Chad & Christina Knips and Tyler & Sadie, also of Houston, TX; Todd & Bridget Stroud and Knox of Weatherford, TX; Trisha Hammond and Kaitlin of Katy, TX; and Trina & Kainan Bodenlos of St. Helen, OR.  As pilots, Trina & Kainan treated Carol to a personal airplane ride over Adrian for her birthday gift.  You'll have to ask Carol about the experience!

  Jamie LeBrun spent some time this month in Franklin, TN with her mother after she fell and broke her hip. While there, they celebrated her mom’s 94th birthday in the rehab center.  Jamie also spent time with her niece and her husband and family.

  The Lismore Booster Club is gearing up for Old Home Day.  On Friday, August 2nd, a burger feed and movie are on the agenda with all activities taking place at the Fire Hall. A free street dance will be held on Saturday evening sponsored by the Lismore Bar.

  After 14 days, 5,286.3 miles/kilometers, 3 Canadian Provinces (Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick) and 17 states (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota), Galen Krogman and Ruth Hubbling are thankfully home! This adventurous couple believes that God has given us a beautiful world to explore and they take advantage of every opportunity to do that--on their motorcycle!! They meet lots of fun and interesting people along the way. From farms to campgrounds to mansions and islands, they have plenty of stories to tell.   

Relatives attending the Loosbrock Family Reunion this year at the home place of the late Ivo & Fran Loosbrock were: Doug & Laura Loosbrock and Josh & Tammy Loosbrock and Sean, Megan & Thomas, all of Lismore; Dan & Jessica Loosbrock & twins Finn & Zoe of Denver, CO; Jeremy & Gina Loosbrock and Mia & Jack of White Bear Lake; Carmell & Brad Cook and Cambree of Brandon, SD; Brad Loosbrock and Bryn, Ian and their friend, George, of Champlin; John & Louise Loosbrock and Cory & Rachel Walker and Ava & Elle, all of Victoria; Aletha & Mark Korzinski and Kira of Idaho; Eric & Brenda Loosbrock and Max and friend, Nick, and Kelly & Holly Loosbrock and Ethan, Isaac & Hope, all of Chaska; Brittany Loosbrock of Duluth; Pat Loosbrock and Margie Loosbrock, both of St. Kilian; Mark & Jenny Wibben and Jensen Wolf, all of Worthington; and Chad & Michelle Loosbrock and Tanner, Nate & Taylor of Adrian.  Drop-in guests were: Marv Lorang, Kevin Lorang & Yig and Ellen Lenz.  Everyone enjoyed corn toss, a 150’ slip & slide and other games provided by the Kelly Loosbrock family, a bonfire and of course, great food. 

Bob & Jamie LeBrun returned Sunday from their annual family camping trip at Waseca, MN. Their granddaughter, Chelsea Underly and her husband, Joshua, from the Air Force Base in CO were able to join them this year. Other family included: Brian, Megan and Abby LeBrun from Clarks Grove; Scott, Ali and Avery LeBrun from Mankato; Mark, Genny, Nicole, Jessica, Cassie, Nathan, Kylee and Mattie LeBrun from Osaki and Kris, Jason, Collin and Blake Maahs from Ankeny, IA.   On Sunday, the family surprised Brian and Megan for their 25th wedding anniversary, which will be celebrated on Sept. 2nd.  Joining the LeBruns were: Ray and Bette LeBrun of Lismore; Marty and Josie LeBrun of Adrian; Andy Scheffler of rural Lismore; Mike Scheffler of Kirkland, WA and Laura & Larry Ailts of Worthington.   

Don & Fran Jueneman of Apache Junction, AZ and Richard & Karen Hamann of Huron, SD visited at the Jim & Angeline Reisdorfer home last Saturday after they all had attended the birthday celebration of Ruby Roemeling in Adrian.  It was good to see so many relatives that they don’t get to see very often.  

Donna Dew of Chania, Crete, Greece was a “working guest” in the Dave & Deb Lutmer home from Thursday until Saturday.  Donna assisted Deb in organizing her craft room.  The gals did take a break to attend a salad luncheon in Luverne and watch Will Lutmer play softball in Sioux Falls. Donna drove to Willmar to stay with Vicki Dew for a few weeks before she returns to her home in Greece.

  It’s not too early to mark your calendar for the St. Anthony Church Bazaar and Auction on September 8th.  Excellent meal, fun games, unique auction items and good company are a sure deal!  

Dale Diekmann of Parkland, FL was in Lismore over the weekend to attend the wedding of Jennifer Recker and Andrew Echternach at St. Adrian on Saturday.  Dale returned to their home Sunday.

  Darleen Lutmer of the Adrian Cottages enjoyed visits this week from Linda Bartl of Mitchell, SD; Rick & Linda Lutmer of Omaha, NE and Bruce & Ruth Lutmer of Brooklyn Park.

  Pearl Wieneke spent the weekend in Ortonville with her sisters: Ev Johnson of Ortonville; Mary Waller of Bloomington; Elsie Graf of Tracy and Joyce Reuter of Cottage Grove for their annual “Sisters Weekend”.

  Ray & Bette LeBrun were Saturday guests in the Jack & LeeAnn LeBrun home in Sioux Falls.  They spent the afternoon with Lance and Emily Dorschner and Wyatt & Ellie of Marshall.  Lance & Emily, Dustin & Elice and Dillon attended the Tim McGraw concert in the evening while the grandparents enjoyed dinner and babysitting with the grandchildren.  

Mike Scheffler of Kirkland, WA spent a week in the home of his dad, Andy Scheffler.  His wife, Jodi, and sons were unable to make it this time.  Mike was able to see his aunts & uncles, Bob, Jamie, Ray and Bette LeBrun and lots of the LeBrun cousins on Sunday at the surprise 25th anniversary party for Brian & Megan LeBrun. He also saw many old friends and classmates at their class reunion.  

Visiting Earl Erdman on Wednesday at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne and his wife Joyce of Lismore, were Bill & Barb Specht of Yankton, SD. The two couples met when they were both wintering at Winter Ranch in Alamo, TX. The former snowbirds had a great visit.
