Funeral Services for Sharee Fritzemeier, age 60, were held Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Sharee Leigh (Nelson) Fritzemeier became a heavenly angel on Monday, July 1, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Sharee was born to Milton and Ramona (Irhke) Nelson on October 3, 1952 in Madison, MN. She was baptized on November 2nd, 1952 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Revillo, SD. Sharee attended her first years of school in rural Revillo, and graduated from Grant Deuel High School in Revillo in 1970.  She attended Northern State University in Aberdeen SD where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education.

While at home from college on Christmas break in 1973, Sharee met Garret Fritzemeier.  They were married on June 7th, 1975 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Revillo. They resided in Madison, MN where Sharee taught 4th Grade until 1976 at which time they moved to Adrian MN.  The next stop on Sharee’s educational journey was in Ellsworth, MN where she taught Special Education until May of 1979.  She finished her teaching career in Adrian where she taught Elementary Special Education from 1979 until her retirement in 2008.

Garret and Sharee were blessed with two daughters; Kristin and Erin, Both girls attended college in Sioux Falls and also now reside there. Because of their close special family bond, Garret and Sharee decided to retire to Sioux Falls and be with their girls. Retirement brought lots of special memories for Sharee from seeing her daughters get married, taking trips with her friends and family, and enjoying every bit of life she could.  In August of 2012, Sharee received the best gift of her life when her granddaughter Emersen was born.  She provided daycare for Emersen until Sharee became too ill to do so any longer.  Emersen was blessed to get to spend some special time with her Grandma. Grandma was the best reader, dancer, and snuggler for Eme.

Sharee was the world’s best mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend. Sharee’s giant heart touched every person she came in contact with. Her positive attitude was infectious throughout her entire life.  She greeted every situation with the most beautiful smile.

Sharee is survived by husband Garret, daughters Kristin Fritzemeier and Erin (Derek) Haak both of Sioux Falls, granddaughter Emersen Haak, mother Ramona Nelson of Watertown, SD, brother Scott (Lavone) Nelson of Watertown, SD and LeMars, IA,  sisters Beth (Roger) Deiter of Faulkton, SD and Monique (Bret) Reed of Elk Point, SD, nieces Tacy Nelson of Sioux Falls, Jessica Nelson of Boston, MA, Shauna (Zach) Remily of Aberdeen, SD, Chelsea (Adam Odden) Deiter of Faulkton, SD,  Kelly Reed of Elk Point, SD, nephews Darrin (Carina) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, IA and Cody Reed of Elk Point, SD, special friends Ron and Lynnette Rother of Luverne, MN along with many other friends and family.
