Parents of the couple are, Dan King of Two Rivers, Alaska, Monica King of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Jody and Merrily Hinrichs of Ellsworth, MN.

King is a 2005 graduate of North Pole High School and Hinrichs is a 2008 graduate of Ellsworth Public School. Both are employed in the area. They both plan to pursue their college degrees later this year.
