On Sunday evening, November 11, the Adrian Cross Country team and their coaches came together with friends and family at the Adrian Elementary commons for their annual post-season celebration and awards banquet.
On Sunday evening, November 11, the Adrian Cross Country team and their coaches came together with friends and family at the Adrian Elementary commons for their annual post-season celebration and awards banquet.

This year’s banquet was catered by Keith’s, with a delicious meal that included pork loin, baked potato, buttered corn, cheesy garlic bread, and Snicker salad. After the meal, some thoughts about the 2012 season were shared by Coaches John Olson and Darrin Pater. Senior, Jordin Kopplow also shared some thoughts and feelings with the crowd about her team and the season they just shared. After the speakers completed their part of the program, Coaches Olson and Pater presented letter-winners with their awards, the awards that were voted on by the team were presented, and the awards that were determined by the numberswere given.

The 2012 letter-winners are: Jordin Kopplow, Megan Sauer, Nicole Slater, Morgan Sauer, Jada Elias, Megan Tweet, Anna Serrao, Hannah Bullerman, Courtney Penning, Justice Redding, Taylor Recker, and Collin Kemper. The awards voted on by the team included the “Hardest Worker” award which was given to Megan Sauer and Nicole Slater on the girl’s team, and Taylor Recker on the boy’s team. The “Most Improved Runner” went to Anna Serrao, and Collin Kemper. The “Most Promising Runner” award went to both Nicole Slater and Anna Serrao for the girls, and to Collin Kemper for the boys. The “Most Valuable Junior High Runner” award went to Courtney Penning, “Most Valuable Runner” for the girls was Jordin Kopplow, and for the boys, it was Taylor Recker. The “Team Leader” award was voted to Jordin Kopplow.

The 2012 “Mileage Leader” on the girl’s team was Megan Sauer, with 364.75 miles during the season. Taylor Recker won the award for the boy’s team with 267.5 miles during the season. Jordin Kopplow and Megan Sauer also were presented with plaques for being senior captains that included some of the accomplishments they have achieved over the course of their running careers.
