When the Adrian Town and Country along with the Women of Today hosted the first annual “Ribs and Rims” one thing became very apparent, we love our volunteer firefighters and ambulance crew. The first annual “Ribs and Rims” was a huge success raising $17,525.00 for the Adrian, Ellsworth, Lismore and Rushmore fire departments and the Adrian Ambulance EMT’s.
The Lynch Livestock Barbeque team headed up by Master Griller, Seth Darling prepared a total of 486 pounds of baby back ribs that were partially donated by JBS of Worthington and served up by the local firefighters and EMT’s. Eighty-two rims presented an impressive lineup, from motorcycles to semi-tractors, there was something for everyone. More than 1,000 people came out to show their support for our area EMT’s and firefighters. Music was played throughout the night by Ray and Janine Heitkamp.
Money raised was from gold, silver and bronze sponsors and freewill offerings from the crowd that attended the first annual “Ribs and Rims”. Adrian, Ellsworth, Lismore and Rushmore fire departments and the Adrian Ambulance Service each received a check for $3,505.
The Adrian Women of Today and Adrian Town and Country would like to thank all the gold, silver and bronze sponsors and the communities for their overwhelming support of this event. Adrian Fire Chief Ray Bullerman stated “I want to thank everyone for coming and making our first Ribs and Rims a huge success. We hope to see you next year!” Plans are underway for the second annual “Ribs and Rims” to be held in July, 2013.
