At the January 24, 2017, Nobles County commissioners awarded Clair Van Grouw Construction the bid on the Adrian Branch Library renovation project. Clair Van Grouw Construction was the only contractor from Nobles County to bid on the project, as well as submitting the lowest bid for the project, at $220,191. There were four other bids: one from a company in Lyon County, Minnesota, and three from companies in South Dakota.
The County has designated up to $300,000 for its portion of the project – the complete renovation of the building, including repairs and upgrades to the structure, as well as fixtures and flooring, insulation, plumbing and heating, etc. The County has already financed the new roof to the building, asbestos removal, as well as architect fees.
The demolition work is scheduled to be done this week, with asbestos removal to begin on Monday of next week.
