The tri-parish cluster of St. Ann, St. Columba and St. Mary are hosting a “Celebrate John Beech” event at the Divine Mercy Hall at St. Ann’s on Sunday, July 17. The church is hoping this will be an opportunity for people from not only his church, but the community to join in celebrating the role John has had in the lives of so many.
John underwent surgery, chemo and radiation for Adenocarcinoma Esophageal Cancer in late 2014. He was optimistic that he would beat this…and he did, for a time.
John’s cancer returned. The doctors at Mayo told him he would have six months ahead of him. He has been living it the way John always lives, with faith in God and a twinkle in his eye. In June he was able to walk his only daughter, Katie, down the aisle on her wedding day.
The event on Sunday will begin at noon with a light meal – BBQ’s, chips, beans, bars. There will be a time of fellowship and music and the event will conclude with a Sunday Mass around 3 p.m. The committee is saying, ‘around’ because you all know how John likes to talk!). Come for the afternoon or come for a short time. All are welcome. All are invited.
