Bullerman earns All-Conference honors

The Dragons traveled to Slayton for the Red Rock Conference Cross Country meet. The course was full of rolling hills that can make for a challenging post season race.

The first runner for the Dragons was Cam Hinsch who was competing in the 1600 meter junior high race. Hinsch completed his final race of the season by placing 13th overall and running a personal best time of 8:44.

The second race for the Dragons was the girl’s 5,000 meter run. Senior Moriah Bullerman competed in her final Red Rock Conference meet and cruised into a 4th place finish with time of 20:55. The next Dragon finisher was sophomore, Hiltyn Heitkamp, running 23:16, just missing all conference, which is awarded to the top 10 in each varsity race. Hunter Penning and Gracia Elias pushed each other the entire race and ran the 5,000 meter course in 24:48 and 24:50 respectively. Rounding out the top five for the Dragons was freshman Taya Elias, who ran a personal best time of 25:34. The girls were able to place 4th as a team in the conference, just missing out on third by a single point.

On the boy’s side, fellow freshman Dylan Graff ran his way to a 13th place finish in his first ever conference meet with a time of 19:52. Bruce Farinella was the 31st runner in the conference as he ran a personal best time over 5,000 meters in 22:15. Finally, Ky Ruppert was able to save his best for conference as he covered the 5K in 26:32. The Dragons will travel to Madison, MN on Thursday, October 24th for the Section 3A meet.
