Broesder and Rupp Families Donate Tractors to Pioneer Village

Two “new” tractors have found a home at the Pioneer Village in Worthington this year.  Joyce Broesder of rural Adrian donated them this spring, in memory of her late husband Jim, who passed away on March 3, 2016.  Jim loved to restore antique tractors; he enjoyed their history, workmanship and beauty.  At the time of his death Jim had about 16 tractors in his shed, most of them fully restored and a few not quite finished.

Joyce and the Bill Rupp family donated a 1937 Twin City MTA and Joyce donated a Thieman Kit tractor from the 1920’s.

Joyce chose to donate these two specific tractors because they hold special memories of Jim.  She comments “if I would have sold them to a collector, who knows where they would end up, this way they are close by and I can see them if I want.”
