The Adrian Public School System’s Teacher of the Year for the 2017-2018 school year is Briana Reker. She is a graduate from Adrian High School and is now in her fourth year of teaching at the Adrian Middle/High School. Not only has she shared her talents in her classroom, but has also shared her skills outside of the classroom leading numerous activities. Reker has been the head varsity volleyball coach for three years, has led the One-Act Play, and has took on the role of leading the Middle School Student Council this year. Beth Steven, Spanish teacher, shared with everyone that Briana can be described with the three P’s; patience, perseverance, and passion. Joyce McCarthy, English teacher, also shared that it has been a joy to watch Briana grow from being her student to now being an amazing colleague and friend. Briana Reker is very deserving of this award and we are so thankful to have her as part of the staff at AHS.
