Adrian High School sophomore Sabdi Bravo brought home a state medal from the Minnesota State High School Speech Tournament Saturday, April 22 at Apple Valley High School. Sabdi finished sixth in Informative Speaking out of the field of 24 competitors from around the state. Her speech entitled “Our Way With Words” looked at how the English words become part of our vocabulary.
Junior Alexia Kemper also competed at the state tourney. She finished in tenth place, finishing just two places away from making finals in the Extemporaneous Reading category. In her category, Alexia makes a random drawing from chapters of the book The Book Thief, and introduces and reads the chapter with expression for judges.
