Funeral Services for Andrew Wagner, age 97, of Adrian, were held Monday, September 10, 2018, at East Friesland Church of Christ in Rushmore, MN, with Daniel Dettman and Beryl Hicks officiating. Burial was in Sunset Rest Cemetery near Rushmore, MN. Andrew died on Thursday, September 6, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 27, 1921 to John and Lena (Hieronimus) Wagner.
On October 26, 1944 he married Geraldine Elsing in Larkin Township. They settled on the Wagner family farmstead near Adrian. Andrew was a lifetime member of the Eastfriesland Church in Rushmore, MN. He was active in his church as an elder, deacon, and also a Sunday school teacher. He remained on the Century long farm until his death. The most important part of his legacy was faith, family, and the land.
Andrew is survived by his children, Wendell (Mary) Wagner of Worthington, MN; Bryan (Erin) Wagner of Coon Rapids,MN; Pam (Rick) Bruns of Champlin, MN and Marilyn (Byron) Weidenbach of Brandon, SD; grandchildren, Michael (Melanie) Wagner, Andrea (Dave) Bloch, Ryan (Mandy) Wagner, Brittany (Matt) Larson, Kristina (Matt) Schlichte, Stephanie and Dylan Bruns, Alex and Andrew Weidenbach and Chelsea Kosel and thirteen great grandchildren.
Andrew was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; daughter, Connie Faith; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wagner; grandson, Brent Wagner; great grandson, Ronan Kosel; a sister and a brother.
Benson Funeral Home of Worthington, MN was in charge of the arrangements.
