Defense Comes Up Strong

The Adrian Dragons traveled to MCC last Friday evening  to take on the unbeaten MCC Rebels.  The Dragons coming off one of their worst defeats in school history vs Minneota, stepped up to the plate and dominated the 2nd half on all phases of the game to win this one 18 to 8.

Adrian won the toss and deferred to the 2nd half.  MCC took the kickoff and marched down the field to the Dragon 20 yard line.  The Rebels dropped back to pass and Frank Serrao intercepted for Adrian.

Adrian used 9 plays and traveled 34 yards to the 50 yard line before being stopped on downs.  Landon Rogers boomed a 52 yard punt and MCC took over on their 20 yard line.

The Rebels put together a nice drive using 10 plays to go the 80 yards, with Cole Bassett capping off the drive with a 6 yard run.  The PAT kick was faked, catching Adrian napping, allowing Brady Kremer to hit Cole Bassett and the Rebels led 8 to 0.

Adrian took the kickoff and went only 25 yards in 6 plays before Landon Rogers punted back to MCC.  Adrian’s defense did a better job on this series of downs and forced MCC to punt.  A Rebel error on the punt return gave Adrian the ball at the 5 yard line. Adrian used 2 plays where Frank Serrao rushed the ball in from 3 yards out.  The try for two failed and Adrian was back in the game trailing 8 to 6.  Both teams exchanged the ball twice before halftime.
