The Adrian Speech team played host to 14 schools on Monday, March 2 in a junior high invitational speech tournament that included students from sixth to ninth grade.
Adrian students made a great showing with Jesus Rojas winning first place in humor. Jocelyn Horn was second in creative expression, Joshua Horn was third in informative speaking, Isabel Thier was fourth in original oratory and Destiny Dibbern won honorable mention in informative speaking.
In varsity competition on Saturday, Feb. 29 at Redwood Valley High School, Maritza Beltran earned second place in poetry. Winning honorable mention awards were Jocelyn Horn. Joshua Horn and Arron Rojas.
