Adrian News – November 9

0

It is good to report that Kathy Burzlaff is home again after hip surgery last Thursday at Sioux Falls Sanford.  Kathy fell down some steps and broke her hip.  Family members and lots of friends and her dedicated work “crew” will carry on without her.  Husband, Bill, is a good caregiver.  Her Review gals, Jennifer, Sharon, Kristine and Lisa work so well together that our Review will be put together on time.  Get well good friend.

This writer has to admit, for all to read, that she cried when the Adrian Dragons lost their football game.  My heart aches for all the team, coaches, cheerleaders, parents and fans.  They played so well.

What absolutely beautiful fall weather.  I hope everyone will stop and say a thank you to our dear Lord.  The farmers should be so thankful for the good crops and no accidents (that I know of).  I hope God will receive a load or two. That can be arranged at the elevators.

I hope my good neighbors did not hear me screaming at the Vikings.

Another business is coming to the Adrian area.  Jill Wolf is opening a floral shop in her lovely farm home four miles south of Adrian on Highway #91.  Jill and her husband, Chris and three children live on the former Don and Marie Schutz acreage.  Jill has lots of experience in the business world as she was employed by the city of Luverne, MN, before she and Chris were married.  Watch the Review for more about the much needed business.  Jill is the daughter of Dave and Jerre Wiertzema.

Kay Cox received word Sunday evening that her granddaughter, Tammy Hoemberg got a deer Sunday evening while deer hunting near Staples, MN.  Tammy is the daughter of Ann (Cox) Hoemberg and the late Don Hoemberg.  Needless to say she was excited.

Don’t forget the Bloodmobile Drive which is this Wednesday, November 9th at the Adrian Public School.

Don’t forget the Soup & Dessert noon luncheon at the Legion Club in Lismore.  This fun time and good food is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church in Lismore.

Mary Lund, Manager of the Adrian Senior Dining has retired after many years of dedicated service.  Lutheran Social Services wishes to thank Mary for her many years of work.

Lutheran Social Services is now looking for a new site manager. This is a part-time position for 2 ½ hours a day starting at 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 and working with Senior Citizens.  In the meantime, anyone can order a meal by calling the center at 483-2588 the day before.  If applying for this position, please call Rhonda at 507-360-8803.

This writer feels the Senior Center is like a second home for many of its regular seniors.  In other words “a home away from home”!

GET WELL SOON KATHY!

From Jennifer, Sharon, Kristine and Lisa.  Greetings may be sent to her PO Box 341, Adrian, MN.
