What a storm! School was closed in the area. The snowplows were busy later in the day. The Meal Site was closed as well. Can’t complain after we enjoyed a beautiful fall.
Congratulations to Marie Schwebach for being chosen as Manager of the Adrian Meal Site. Last Thursday was “Two Buck Day” and 34 folks enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with a pumpkin dessert provided by Adrian State Bank. Also the Meal Site was happy to have bank president Dave and Joyce Eickhoff join them. Also enjoying the meal was newly elected Mayor John Faber and his wife Peg. Marie can be reached at the Meal Site by calling 483-2588.
Nothing stops Adrian’s Chain Gang as they left early Friday morning for the State High School Football play offs. They were pleased to again be honored by asking to assist at the State games in the new U.S. Bank Stadium, they worked two games. The men are Al Cox, Bob Wolf, Chad Loosbrock, Pat Thier, Ching Heitkamp, Tanner Loosbrock, Troy Loosbrock and Curt Taylor. They also had tickets to the Viking-Arizona game on Sunday. A good weekend.
The Adrian High School put on a great play last week. It was Mrs. Joyce McCarthy’s 17th play and it was a riot. A laugh a minute and the students had a great time. Where do these “kids” find time to practice? This writer thanks Carol Rupp for asking me to attend and for picking me up. Thanks to all the people who are so kind.
Don’t forget the Tree of Lights which will be held at the Adrian Fire Hall on December 8th at 7:00 p.m. Only $5.00 a light and proceeds go to Hospice.
Good News! Bernard Thier’s kidney transplant was successful. Daughter Julie Brake gave one of her kidneys to Dad. Thank God!
Please pray for Alice Cook who will receive a new knee Tuesday. Prayers also for Karen Cook.
Happy Thanksgiving to Kathy and Bill Burzlaff and family. We are so happy to hear Kathy is doing well and healing fast.
If anyone has any Thanksgiving gatherings they want to share in the Adrian News please call Kay Cox or the Nobles County Review.
