Jessie, Brooklynn & Roman Jeffery from Spearfish, SD spent a few days with Tony & Marcia Kunkel last week. They visited with some friends & family and also attended the baptism of Parker Lee Kunkel, son of Eric & Carrie, in Tea, SD on Saturday. The rainy weather changed some of their plans but they managed to stay busy.

Rev Art Miller, former pastor at Adrian/Magnolia Methodist churches will be preaching his last sermon on June 12th at the Windom Methodist Church, Windom, MN, he will be retiring after June 12, 2016.  Rev Miller spent seven years in Adrian and 15 years in Windom.  He has touched many lives in his ministry and will continue to touch lives in his retirement.  Good luck to Art and Sherri on their retirement years.

Angela Wagner was guest of honor at a bridal shower on Saturday June 4th at the CCD Building.  Her chosen colors of silver and aqua were used for the decorations. Angela is the bride-to-be of Chad Thompson. She received many beautiful and useful gifts. A delicious brunch was served with punch, Champaign and the best coffee this writer has ever tasted. Angela is the daughter of Bob and Linda Wagner.  Congratulations Angela and Chad.

I, Kay Cox, received a lovely note from former Adrianite Mavis (Lund) King of Luverne last week. She stated that her retirement home Popular Creek in Luverne was not going to have any Memorial day program. She asked if she could read poem “Remembering” that I wrote in 1996.  The folks loved it and she gave me credit.  I tell you readers this story to emphasize how important it is not to forget our Veterans.  Mavis and her late husband Judd King owned the movie theatre in Adrian for years.

A great story by writer, Julie Buntjer in the June 6-2-2016 issue in the Globe about restoring an old windmill that now stands proudly at the Jim Lynn farm west of Adrian.  Jim and his wife are owners of a unique business called BARN FRESH.  It is a great story about cooperation of people who love to work and restore antiques.

Whitney and Michael Pittman and baby Braxton spent the weekend in Adrian at the Al and Cindy Cox home.  They came especially for their cousin Abby Erlandson’s wedding at St. Adrian.  Great Grandma’s Eileen Hokeness and Kay Cox saw little Braxton Sunday at the Al Cox home.

Congratulations to the Adrian Dragon’s baseball team, cross county and golf team for their good playing.

Anyone interested in celebrating the 50th class reunion of the Class of 1966 meet at the Countryside Inn on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

What do you do when bad things happen to good people?  It is very simple, you pray.
