Fair week is over. What a busy time for all of the 4-H families. It was a great fair with a lot of the kids from the area doing great in the competitions. Congratulations to all who participated. Be sure to take a look at all of the pictures in this weeks Review.
Joyce Broesder and Alice Hokeness were Sunday afternoon visitors with Kay Cox. A big thank you from Kay to Joyce who has been so supportive of her when she goes up to communion at St. Adrian.
On Friday, August 3rd, an appreciation picnic was held for the area firemen and EMS crews. The picnic was sponsored by Adrian Town and Country Assoc. Between 80 and 100 people came to honor these departments and to enjoy dinner, a ribeye sandwich, potato salad and a drink. The checks from Ribs and Rims were presented to the departments with lots of thanks.
We received some timely rains this past weekend. Some of the grass was really showing stress. Thank you, Lord for taking care of our needs.
Mary (Cox) and Mark Taylor came from the Twin Cities to visit Mary’s nephew Brian Cox in Luverne. While in the area, they came to Adrian to see Kay and enjoyed supper at the Countryside Inn. Kay was overjoyed to be able to join them. While at the Countryside, they ran into Uncle LeRoy Rust and family members also enjoying a meal at the Countryside. Cousins David, Jim and John along with their spouses had a great time visiting with the Cox cousins.
Thank you to all who kept Dash Wenthe, son of Elissa (Cox) and Andrew Wenthe in your prayers. Dash is now home and doing well.
It doesn’t seem possible, but football practice will start in the next week or so. Where did summer go?
Thought for the week: It is useless to worry about anything and doubly useless to worry about something that is over and done with and that nothing can be done about. If you made a mistake that can be rectified, go ahead and take action to correct it. If you cannot do anything to correct it, except being sorry, then ask forgiveness from God and anyone you hurt and don’t worry about it any longer.
Have a good week.
