Working on the Adrian News and trying to find positive fun things to put in here has become a challenge. It’s been a tough summer! Things keep happening that aren’t exactly uplifting. If you have some good fun news, let us know at the Review. Thank you!
Quite a storm we had on Saturday night! Lots of wind about 3/4 of an inch of rain and the lightening show was spectacular. Let’s hope the hail didn’t destroy anything. There was a farm close to Reading that had quite a number of buildings destroyed by what acted as a small tornado.
Highway 91 construction is supposed to begin this week again! Reports are that there isn’t any sign of work yet, but the detour signs were put up. Keep your eyes open!
Congratulations to Alexia Kemper, who golfed her way to the Ladies Club Champion this past weekend. Katie Wieneke took home second and Jada Elias, third. Congratulations ladies!
Our deepest sympathies to the Leutholds and the Kramers at the loss of Kelvyn. Such a tragedy. Our hearts go out to all of the family. God bless the memory of Kelvyn and give peace to the family.
The Minnesota State Fair is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Aug. 22 and run through Labor Day, Sept . 2. The 4-H kids who qualified for the state are getting set up in the cities even now. If you’ve never been, it’s a great place to eat anything on a stick and to get in some great people watching! Oh and you might want to check out all of the exhibits!
Our deepest sympathies to the family of Ardelle Brunk. Ardelle passed away on Saturday. May God bless the memory of Ardelle Brunk.
The Clay County Fair is just around the corner-September 8 – 15. You can always count on some great grandstand shows. The food is plentiful and so are all of the vendors and exhibits. If you like fairs, try this one. It’s closer than the Twin Cities.
In next weeks paper, you’ll read a story about a gentleman who was buried in the Adrian Cemetery in 1882, and has had no head stone. Be sure to check it out!
Molly Einck is making forward strides in her battle towards a miracle heart. Keep her and her family in your continued prayers. Also remember those others in our communities who need our continued prayers.
The sidewalks down Maine Street are coming closer to completion. Won’t it be nice? These guys really make quick progress when they are working!
Up for the Senior Dining Center is $2 meal day on Thursday, Aug. 22. No where
else in Adrian will you get a good meal at that price and
plenty of company to go along with it. Check it out.
Thought for the week: Slow down, slow way down and see and seek Jesus in everyone and everything. He is most accessible in the small moments of the day!
Have a great week!
