Adrian News 8-15-18

We had a gorgeous week and an even nicer weekend.  That’s what is great about August, warm days and cool evenings.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Marilyn Berreau.  Marilyn was the mother-in-law of Angelle Berreau and grandmother to Issac and Zach.  Her services and burial will be held in Lake Wilson, where her husband and her son, Jon are both laid to rest.  Blessed be the memory of Marilyn Berreau.

A lot of pictures were taken at the Nobles County Fair by the NCR staff .  They are available at the Review office.  Stop in and pick up or order  your child/grandchild’s picture today.

Evelyn Ryder was excited to have her daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Dean Cook, come to visit her from Lebman, Ohio this past weekend.  Lana was a 1978 graduate from Adrian Public High School.

An open house bridal shower for Carly Wolf, bride-to-be of Kody Henning, will be held on Saturday,  August 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Adrian.

Kay Cox was happy to hear from Natalie Cook who works with young people in Georgia. Natalie is devoted to teaching these young people all about Jesus Christ.

Teagan Gosch, eight year old daughter of Ashley and Spencer, from Mobridge, SD spent her first time ever showing her 4-H activities at the fair.  She did great, winning 11 purple and 2 blue ribbons. Teagan showed a 1200 lb steer from her Grandpa Gosch’s herd and won Reserve Champion.  She received one of her purple ribbons in the Clothes You Buy category with a dress she picked out herself.  Needless to say her Adrian grandparents, Alan and Cindy Cox, and great-grandmothers, Eileen Hokeness and Kay Cox are very proud!

Next week at the Adrian Senior Dining Center – cards and bingo on Monday,  Aug. 20th and on Thursday, Aug. 23rd is $2 meal day.  Be sure to sign up a day ahead.

Thank you’s were sent out to all who participated in a very successful Rims and Ribs.  A special thank you from the committee and from all the members of Adrian Town and Country Assoc. for your help and participation.

This past weekend  Adrian Fun Days was held in the lower park areas.  Be sure to check out the pictures.  A great time was had by all!

Thought for the week:  Making mistakes is not the end of the world.  We can recover from most mistakes.  One of the few mistakes we cannot recover from is the mistake of never being willing to make one in the first place.  Don’t sit on the sidelines of life wishing you were doing the things you see other people doing.  Take action and make the most of life.

Have a great week!
