We just can’t seem to get to spring weather. Each spring snow storm is going to be the last, or so it’s said. Maybe this weekend will be the last!? Let’s hope so. Someone made the comment that potatoes aren’t planted yet! How many times have the robins been snowed on?
It’s a tough spring when you get more snow than all winter! Spring sports for Adrian High School are still scheduled, although most of them are being rescheduled. On Thursday, April 12th, there is a full slate of sports on the calendar. Knowledge Bowl is away for the State meet on April 12 and 13 -it’s a pretty sure bet they will not be postponed! Golf is at home at 4:15 p.m.; boys baseball is away against Edgerton/SWC at 4:30 p.m.; Girls softball is home against Edgerton/SWC at 4:30 p.m.; and track and field is away at Luverne at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, April 13th, baseball is at home against Worthington at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 14 Track and Field is at Pipestone at 11:00 a.m., the speech team has a region meet at SMSU (Marshall), and girls ‘B’ softball play in the Welcome Tournament.
On Monday, April 16, the middle school boys baseball and girls softball both play in Luverne at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday has track and field at Fulda/ MCC at 4:00 p.m.; varsity boys baseball is at home against Mt. Lake Area at 4:30 p.m., while middle school baseball is away at Mt. Lake Area at 4:30 p.m. and girls softball is away at Mt. Lake Area at 4:30 p.m.
It’s good to hear that Emma Knisley handled her surgery well and was able to go home. Please keep her in your prayers!
The men’s ping- pong league has finished for the year. Pictures will be in next week’s Nobles County Review with a short story!
On Tuesday, April 16th, the Senior Dining Center will have cards and Bingo. Make your reservations.
On Friday, April 20th, the Senior Dining Center will hold the monthly $2 meal. Special guest speaker for that day will be Mayor John Faber. He will be talking to the Seniors present about the future of the meal site and what they would like to see. You don’t want to miss this event!
Adrian’s city-wide rummage sales are scheduled for next weekend, April 20th and 21st. You can get addresses and maps at City Hall.
The annual spring clean up will begin Monday, April 23, just in time to get rid of what you couldn’t sell!
Adrian High School’s Prom is coming up on April 28. Be sure to go and see the couples in their best!
On April 17th at 2:00 p.m. there will be a Volunteer Appreciation program at the Adrian Country Living Cottages. Volunteers are the life-blood of some organizations. Come and celebrate them!
April is Health Awareness Month. There are so many organizations committed to health. Check out the stories of two local donors in the Nobles County Review. Also be aware of the different organizations that celebrate in April by checking out the Wellness Council of America’s website for a list.
