The K-6th grade wrestlers took 3rd place at Regions this past weekend.  Congratulations and good luck at State.

The Eagan family held their annual St. Patrick’s day potluck on Saturday, March 17, at St. Adrian’s Ed building.  They finished up their celebration by marching in the parade.  They were seen taking pictures on the steps of St. Adrian, the clan takes up the whole step area!

The AHS Speech team took 10th place out of 22 teams at a meet in Jaynesville, MN this past weekend.  Congratulations to the Speech team!

On Saturday, March 17,  Adrian hosted the very first JO volleyball tournament of the season.  Twenty teams filled both schools for most of the day.  Two of Adrian’s teams won honors at the tournament.  Congratulations!

After the parade of Saturday evening, the Adrian Town and Country held it’s second annual St. Patrick’s Day Steak Fry at the American Legion building.  Over 150 people were served a rib-eye steak dinner.  It was a great success and if you missed this years, you’ll have to try for next year.

The “pie room” at St. Adrian is almost complete.  During the renovation a card that was tacked up 47 years ago by Kay Cox to remind people that the shelves had been made by Henry Heitkamp and Jack Bullerman.  The card was laminated and is now part of the Church’s historical artifacts.  Thanks Kim Kunkel for saving the card!

Adrian Country Living Cottages is going to celebrate eight years! Thanks to the foresight of the city administrators, the HRA, the steering committee, and many others we have a great facility right here in Adrian for elder care.  The quality of care is great,  and the staff is dedicated to the comfort and care of the residents.  Karen Rye, the director of the facility is dedicated to providing programing for the residents.  This past Wednesday, Karen had Barb Atchinson, from Rural Brewster came and entertain residents and some guests with over an hour of Irish songs.

Visiting with Kay Cox for St. Patrick’s Day was her son, Mark Cox and daughter, Mary (Cox) Taylor.  They drove down from the cities to see their mother and to join in the St. Pat’s day festivities.  Kay accompanied her grandson Mitchell, his wife Kayla and their three children, Marshall, Mason and Merritt, for a drive through the St. Patrick’s Day Parade along with other “Irish” families.  After the parade, they were invited to Alan and Cindy Cox’s house for pizza.

Spring is here!  Let’s hope for warmer spring weather.  Watch for the tulips.  They’ll be making an entrance soon!

Thought for the week:  Always try to leave people better that you found them.  Hug the hurt.  Kiss the broken.  Befriend the lost.  Love the lonely!
