It is hard for me to describe the feelings I had Sunday, when I saw so many organizations, churches, and families come together for a benefit! The benefit was for Sheena Eidhammer, a young mother of three children, who suffered heart failure on September 27. From that day until now, people from a large area of Nobles County and parts of Rock County and some from N. W. Iowa have joined together to support the Eidhammers. This past Sunday, a pancake and sausage breakfast was held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Adrian Elementary Commons for the Eidhammers. The Elementary gym was full of tables of donated items up for silent auction, as well as a bake sale. I was amazed at all the items that had been donated. The cub scouts and their leaders along with the fire department and the EMTs were willing to give their time to serve this breakfast to the many people who attended. There was such a warm “fuzzy” feeling in the school through out the morning. The proceeds of this benefit will be a blessing for the Eidhammers. May God continue to bless this family.
The bake sale at the Eidhammer benefit was put together by the American Legion Auxiliary. The success of the bake sale was due to the generosity of the community who donated items and freely dug deep into their pockets to pay for the baked goods!
Mary (Cox) Taylor celebrated her 60th birthday on Saturday, November 18! Her husband Mark invited the Taylors and the Coxes for an open house in their downtown Minneapolis condo. There was lots of food and the parking was free. All of her siblings were able to attend and some stayed over night and lingered to watch the Vikings game. What a great game it was!

When reading the November 15th edition of the Globe, I came across an item in the “Fifty Years A Go” segment. It was an ad for the Oxford Cafe that featured a complete turkey dinner for $1.40, and a roast beef or pork dinner for $1.35. Imagine that!
In the “75 Years Ago” segment of the same edition, there were two different items concerning farmers who lost part of a limb and how the area neighbors came together to help. It is so great that back then people came to help and people still do now. God touches the hearts of His people and they respond with love and joy!
The “Two Buck” meal was held on Monday, November 13, at the Senior Center. Providers for the meal were Eric and Meredith Vaselaar. Twenty-two hungry folks enjoyed a hot meal with lots of fellowship. Call Marie at 483-2588 if you would like to enjoy a good meal at $2.00.
